Anna is still an experimental feature. To active her, active the ‘AI App Editor’ feature in the Feature Settings. Currently there is no subscription checked. As soon as our new AI Subscription is finished, it will be mandatory and integrated into the AI App Editor.

Creating applications with Anna

Capabilities of Anna

Although Anna is still experimental, she already has a lot of capabilities. You can use them by chatting with her. Currently, the following features are available:

Define a technical name and a display name
Create a UI5 application incl. folly working live preview
Create your login screen with login based on SSO authentication methods and credentials login
Let tests be automatically be run after deoplyment
Use/create/update Business Objects if you have given the permission to Anna
Create/update Connectors if you have given the permission to Anna
Transport and deploy the App to the Simplifier runtime and to SAP Build Work Zone
Collaboration with your team mates. Only one can work with Anna
Upload files. This files can be used in the chat as well as in the app itself
Optimize the chat history: Load, delete, auto compact
Screenshot/Selection tool: You can select individual elements from the preview using a selection tool or a screenshot tool, and Anna recognizes which element or area needs to be adjusted.
Dependencies are tracked automatically
GIT integration. Every change gets committed and is visible in the commit history (note: not all GIT features are integrated)
Edit the code in the integrated code editor manually or in interaction with Anna by selecting parts of the code and commit it to the repository
Edit the code with your local AI setup and test it locally (requires our Bridging App). For more details see the guides to setup Simplifier AI application development with OpenCode and Claude Code

Restrictions

Currently, there are the following restrictions:

Transport Packages have to be created manually
Using Connectors directly in the. Integrate them in Business Objects instead
There is no specification created before implementation
AI Apps are not yet listed in the Mobile Client and the launchpad
Mobile Actions are not yet supported
Starting and creating workflows
No custom instructions possible
AI Subscription is not checked
You cannot revert the code to an older commit
Working with branches is not supported. Anna always uses the main branch
Files are always added to the application. Uploaded files as context for Anna only is not supported
and all what is not listed as feature above yet

Anna also comes with the possibility to edit the code externally with your own AI agents and development flow. Keep in mind, that Anna requires a valid UI5 structure to be able to work. Also, Anna always deploys the main branch. If you work with multiple branches, you can test the locally via the integrated UI5 serve. You need to merge your changes to the main branch before you can deploy it to the Simplifier runtime

Architectural changes compared to the v1 apps

The following features are obsolete in the AI App Editor and won’t be implemented:

No process designer required anymore
Client-side business objects are not required anymore
Direct use of native UI5 controls. Widgets to make them available are no longer required
