Android – Random Connection Errors to Simplifier Server

Problem Description

Depending on the Device Settings , Android Version and Mobile Device Management, the Simplifier Mobile Client will affected due Battery Performance Management to save power capacity.

This Error leads to

  • disconnection of http and websockets (wss)
  • random disconnection even the smartphone is online

This issue is known on Android OS  https://issuetracker.google.com/issues/37123179

The device goes into a power saving mode and disables system services that breaks up the network connection.

Resolution

To fix this behaviour you can remove services like Simplifier or PacProcessor from the power battery optimization. If necessary you can also control this via your Mobile Device Management (MDM).
