The app developed with Simplifier provides seamless IT-Tickes System integration into your apps to empower your Citizen Developers on organizing optimizations and problem handling.

Problem

Citizen Developers do not normally have access to the IT department's ticket system. However, they need a solution to coordinate optimization work and problem solving. In addition, in most cases there is no simple and straightforward way for users to report problems with an application directly. As a result, the IT support team is always very busy, even though the requests can also be processed by the Citizen Developers.

Solution

The ticket system allows users to easily report problems with an app to Citizen Developers from within the app. The app consists of a stand-alone part, i.e. the dashboard, in which all reports are collected, and a modular part. The latter is a “Report an Issue” button that can be integrated into any number of apps according to the plug-and-play principle. Citizen developers can decide for themselves whether they want to create a ticket with IT or contact the user directly or resolve the problem themselves.

Impact

Implementing the IT ticketing system in existing apps and websites is very easy thanks to the modular feature. Bugs and issues can now be resolved faster as the reporting process has been added. Citizen developers and the IT support team have an overview of the issues users are experiencing at all times, across multiple apps.

Installation Instructions

After Import

Add endpoints for your landscape to connectors

Add and adapt the endpoints of your System Environment in the following Connectors (Read more):

  • PRT_Connector -> SQL Connector to App-specific database

Deploy Database Schema

Open and deploy the Database Schema “PRT”. (Read more)

Assign permissions to your users

Add Business Role Assignment in the Project to the relevant users.

Integration in existing Applications

Create UI Elements

Add a Button to the Screen(s), from where you want to enable your Application users to raise a ticket.

Also create a Dialog, which contains a ui_core_ComponentContainer. The ComponentContainer is required to load the Ticket form Module.

Add Process after Button’s press event

After the user has pressed the button, you must load the IT Ticket Sytems Modul. If you need any assistance, do not hesitate to contact EMG Systems!
