Hi,
is it possible to use existing AD groups and roles instead of simplifier’s own groups and roles?
Simplifier supports standard AD verification. But is it also possible to check if a users exists in a certain AD group or has a specific role in AD?
I thought there maybe exists an such an API that I can call from a Bussiness Object.
Thanks in advance.
Greetings
Christopher

for the moment there is no option to use existing AD Roles. Every User authenticated through AD automatically gets the Role “iTZ_Ext_Auth_User” as default. You can use that Role to implement the capabilities of AD authenticated Users as a standard. You can assign multiple Roles to users so you can for example have a Role “Developer” that holds additional capabilities and assign it to SF users. We have planned to extend the AD integration functionality to cover the requirements you mentioned in a future release.
Hope that helps
