Say you want to hash passwords on the server-side (mysql). Does Simplifier supply built-in functionality like “encrypt” and “decrypt” within business objects? Are modern algorithms, e.g. bcrypt supported?

Server-Side Business Objects provide you the functionality of CryptoJs.  Please look into the documentation how to use CryptoJS.
